Rather than being a stranger sniping away with a long lens, I spend time speaking to the bridal party and guests, getting to know people and then, when they see me pointing my camera in their general direction, they feel at ease and unselfconscious. This is what gives my photos the sense of intimacy and authenticity, more than just a record of events, but of feelings.
I also strive to be artistic with my photos, looking for interesting angles and framings that suit the atmosphere, theme and location of each unique wedding. This comes through with my candid shots from throughout the day, as well as the couple portraits.
I know that a lot of couples really dread the portrait segment of the day, but I promise, there’s nothing to be afraid of! Your couple portraits are an opportunity to create some beautiful, timeless photographs of you and your partner, capturing all of the love, excitement and emotion of your big day! During the shoot, I’ll direct you a little bit, to help you feel comfortable and get the best-looking shots possible, but I also love catching those unguarded moments between shots; the laughter and little looks and touches. (And for those that want to, we can also get a few magazine-worthy posed photos!)
Your wedding day will be a day of love and joy, which is why I’ll love being a part of it. From morning preparation, ceremony, formal photos and party (or whatever wonderful way you’ll structure your day) I’ll make sure things go smoothly whilst capturing all the feelings.
Afterwards you’ll have a collection of photos from throughout the day that are always there to transport you back, as well as fill in the gaps that you may have missed in the joyful chaos of the festivities.
I know I’m successful not only from the feedback I get from the couples themselves, but also from the amount of wedding guests who have ended up booking me for their own weddings! Many have commented that they didn’t just like my photos, they also loved my manner on the day.
It brings me so much happiness to be part of someone’s weddings, and knowing that I’m helping to create memories that will last a life time.
